Mike's Odyssey to Greece - 2005

Part 22: The First Sunset on Santorini

After getting off the bus, I went back to my hotel in Fira.  My hotel was spectacular - it was a beautiful room, a beautiful view, and the staff takes care of you like family.  I joined the owner for some coffee, and Anna in the lobby helped take of me by pointing me in the right direction and telling me how to enjoy a traditional Greek Easter.  If you would like to stay with them (which I highly recommend) they are called the Hotel Thireas and their number is 02860-25292.  Be sure to tell them that "Mike the crazy American from Easter 2005 and webmaster of Rants in Your Pants" sent you.

So, since I had my own balcony and it was about sunset, I grabbed a chunk of cheese and a bottle of Santorini wine and sat down to enjoy the sunset.

Wine on my balcony.  It doesn't get much better than this!

The sunsets at Santorini are simply gorgeous, and they locals say that no two sunsets are ever the same.

After watching the sunset, I decided to tour the city for a quick dinner and then take in a traditional Greek Orthodox Easter.
