Part 6: The Real Trip Home

So, that Saturday morning, we go out to the airport.  It is sunny.  We check in, board our flight, and head home.

Military rules at the time said you could only use your frequent flyer miles to upgrade to First Class on international trips.  Well, we were on an international trip, so we cashed in our miles and flew back First Class.  It would probably have been more enjoyable if we didn't spend more time on the ground than in the air.  The flight was barely 45 minutes.

The best part?  US Customs.

"Are you an American?"

"Yep," I replied.

"Welcome home," the customs officer said.
